Tom wanted to enhance the look and functionality around his existing Jacuzzi. The backyard had uneven dirt, exposed equipment, and no safe or attractive way to access the spa. Our team designed a low-maintenance deck solution that made the hot tub a true backyard highlight.
The Problem
The area around the Jacuzzi was bare soil, creating tripping hazards, drainage concerns, and an unfinished look. Tom also wanted a clean way to step into the tub and improve the nighttime vibe of his backyard.
The Solution
We built a custom deck around the spa using composite boards for durability and aesthetics. The build included multi-tiered stairs, recessed LED lighting for evening ambiance, and neatly integrated the hot tub into the design. It’s now the centerpiece of a well-lit, low-maintenance relaxation zone.
Behind the Build: Step-by-Step Jacuzzi Deck Installation
1. Site Prep & Demo
We began by clearing and leveling the area around the hot tub, removing old debris, landscaping fabric, and setting a clean workspace.
2. Foundation Layout
Framing layout was established, with piers marked and footing placements dug to create solid support for the raised deck.
3. Framing Installation
Pressure-treated posts and beams were anchored and leveled, with joists framed around the hot tub for custom fit.
4. Deck Board Installation Begins
Composite deck boards were installed starting from the spa, cut precisely to wrap corners and align the pattern.
5. Stair Framing
We framed the stairs with tight measurements and risers to align perfectly with the multi-tiered deck design.
6. Trim and Finishing Boards
We installed fascia boards and mitered trim for a clean, polished edge around the entire structure.
7. Lighting Integration
Solar-powered LED lights were installed into each step and along the perimeter to create a warm, safe glow at night.
8. Final Touches & Clean-Up
We cleaned the site, tested lighting, and walked through the project with Tom to ensure everything exceeded expectations.
