From cracked concrete to clean lines and modern finishes. See how we created a durable, elegant paver walkway for Isaac’s home.
Before & After: Modern Walkway Transformation

Project Spotlight: Modern San Diego Walkway and Side Yard Paver Installation
Isaac’s existing side yard and backyard walkways were cluttered, uneven, and outdated. Between broken concrete, old planters, and overgrown vegetation, the space was underused. He needed a clean, modern surface that tied everything together. Our goal was to deliver a beautiful, low-maintenance, and functional walkway with pavers that matched the look of his remodeled home.
The Problem
The original concrete was cracking and misaligned. Water drainage was poor, planter boxes were deteriorating, and access around the house was tight and uncomfortable. Isaac wanted a fresh start—with better layout, appearance, and usability.
The Solution
We demolished the existing walkway and concrete pads, regraded the entire side yard, rebuilt planter boxes, and installed a brand-new paver system using large multi-color stone for a high-end look. The final product is level, durable, and beautiful from every angle.
Behind the Build: Step-by-Step Paver Installation for Walkways & Side Yards

1. Demolition of Old Concrete Walkways
We started by breaking up the cracked concrete along the house and side yard to fully reset the space.

2. Site Clearing and Excavation
All debris, roots, and old planter material were removed. We dug down to prep for compacted base layers.

3. Grading and Drainage Planning
We regraded the walkway and installed proper slope to manage water runoff and prevent pooling against the home.

4. Planter Box Rebuild and Wall Refinishing
We patched and refinished the existing planter walls for a smoother, modern stucco look to complement the pavers.

5. Base Installation with Compaction
We installed and compacted a gravel base with sand overlay to provide a strong, stable foundation for pavers.

6. Paver Laying and Edge Work
Multi-color pavers were carefully laid in a staggered pattern with tight joints and crisp alignment, including stair transitions.

7. Finishing Touches and Sand Sweep
Joint sand was swept in to lock the pavers in place, and final leveling was performed for a seamless look throughout.

8. Final Cleanup and Reveal
The full walkway was pressure-cleaned and polished. The results? A smooth, functional pathway with premium curb appeal.
