Before & After: Big Changes in a Small Kitchen

Project Spotlight: Small Kitchen Remodel in San Diego
Jacob and Sarah loved their home in San Diego, but the kitchen was a problem. It was too bulky for the space it was in. Cabinets, appliances, and a poor layout made cooking and moving around difficult. They wanted a kitchen that worked better for their lifestyle without expanding the footprint.
The Problem
The kitchen took up too much space in an already small area. Storage was inefficient, counters were cluttered, and navigating the space felt overwhelming.
The Solution
We redesigned the kitchen to be more compact, functional, and open. By selecting the right-sized cabinetry, installing sleek appliances, and improving the layout, we gave Jacob and Sarah a kitchen that felt more spacious without changing the walls.
Designed for Simplicity, Built with Precision
Jacob and Sarah had a clear vision: they wanted a modern kitchen that felt open and easy to use. We stayed within budget, finished on time, and delivered exactly what they needed.
This remodel wasn’t about making the kitchen bigger—it was about making it smarter.
What This Project Meant
The new kitchen gave Jacob and Sarah the ability to cook, prep, and move around comfortably in their own home. It also made the entire space feel brighter and more enjoyable to live in.
Behind the Build: Step-by-Step Kitchen Remodel

1. Before Build – Dated and Cramped
The kitchen had outdated tile countertops, bulky upper cabinets, and a layout that blocked natural light and created crowding.

2. Demolition Begins
We removed all cabinets, appliances, and tile flooring. The demo team cleared the space down to the subfloor and exposed the bare walls for a clean slate.

3. Patching and Prepping the Space
Drywall was repaired and skim-coated for a smooth finish. Old outlets were repositioned, and fresh paint brightened the space.

4. New Cabinet Delivery and Staging
Fresh cabinetry was delivered onsite and staged for installation. Our team prepared for precise alignment and layout.

5. Cabinet Installation Begins
Base cabinets were leveled and secured, followed by upper cabinets. Every piece was measured for perfect fit and functionality.

6. Final Cabinetry and Details
Tall pantry cabinets and upper storage units were installed. We added crown molding and soft-close hardware for a modern finish.

7. Countertop and Backsplash Installation
Quartz countertops with a waterfall edge were set in place. The sleek surfaces added durability and a timeless look.

8. Final Result – Bright, Functional Kitchen
The finished kitchen features modern cabinetry, stone counters, LED lighting, and a more open feel—transforming the space into a bright, elegant, and highly usable heart of the home.
Smart design changes everything.
